Teapots in two styles

January 7, 2013

This group of recent teapots are defined by hard and soft lines.  I’m working on making sharp and soft lines in both form and texture.  There are two different aqua glazes here.  One is a transparent green aqua with a fine crackle – that is often hard to see in photos – the other is a more opaque blue aqua; both are on white clay.

These glazes are gorgeous in person, but very hard to photograph, there is much reflection going on in the surface of the pots.  I think the angular forms hide the light reflection better than the curved forms.  Still working on it.  My white and yellow glazes are much easier to photograph.
